Gary Payton Goes Off on Doc Rivers Over Load Management

Head coach of the Los Angeles Clippers, Doc Rivers, threw some shade at LeBron and the Lakers in a press conference afterwards. After being asked on load management, he responded, “It’s our philosophy. I don’t know what theirs are, you know? I think theirs is whatever LeBron says it is.”

The Clippers tend to rest their star, Kawhi Leonard, a few times a season for different reasons. Some are against it but Rivers says, “I like we’re doing. I think it’s the smartest thing to do and you know, we’ll see in the end.”

After hearing Rivers’ comments, ex-NBA player and former Laker, Gary Payton went off on him. Yahoo Sports released a video of Payton where he says, “Doc, you ain’t talking the truth, because the simple fact is you know that’s why Kawhi came to you anyways. Because he told you if you don’t load manage me the way I want to be load managed then I’m not coming here, and you said ‘Okay’. You know what’s the truth so you talking about LeBron saying it…Kawhi’s over there saying it too.”
