Dunk League Volume 3: LONGEST Dunk Contest Ever

On last week’s episode of Dunk League, we got to relive some of the greatest moments in NBA history with the “Twist On a Classic” challenge.

The Dunk League contestants all went into their bag to put their own spin on some of the best dunks we have ever seen in the history of the NBA Dunk contest. Three-time Slam Dunk champ Nate Robinson was a special judge, as $5,000 was once again on the line.

Dan Gross showed out in that challenge, adding a 360 to Jason Richardson’s classic reverse in-between-the-legs slam to take home his first $5,000 win of the competition. Gross was still up for elimination and had to compete in a self lob dunk-off, but emerged victorious.

In doing so, Gross cemented his place in the final four next to three Dunk League vets as the only rookie to make it this far in the competition.

A few weeks ago, we got to see how high these dunk artists could fly in the “HIGHEST Dunk Contest of ALL-TIME“. This week it is all about distance, with the final four set to take on their next challenge, “Going the Distance”.

Going the Distance

In this challenge, dunkers will not only be judged on their creativity, but also the distance of their dunks.

Each week, scores accumulate for these dunkers, as they all look to be the last man standing and earn the grand prize of $20,000.

The three dunkers with the lowest cumulative score at the end of this competition will once again enter a dunk-off to see who can survive and advance to next week. That means only the top dunker will be guaranteed to advanced to next week’s semi-final.

Here is how the leaderboard looks heading into Week 5 of the Dunk League:
