Xbox Live Coming to Nintendo Switch

Microsoft announced it will integrate Xbox Live support for the Nintendo Switch, iOS, and Android devices in a tease for the company’s Game Developers Conference next month. This will see Xbox Live achievements, friends, clubs, and game history integrate onto these platforms for the very first time as part of the company’s new cross-platforming initiative.

Microsoft’s description states: “Xbox Live is about to get MUCH bigger. Xbox Live is expanding from 400m gaming devices and a reach to over 68m active players to over 2bn devices with the release of our new cross-platform XDK.”

Certain Microsoft games like Minecraft allow users to sign into Xbox live on multiple platforms already, but this new tie-in will not be restricted to first-party titles, allowing achievements to be earned from any console on any game available on both systems.
