Under-the-Radar Teams to Watch this Upcoming NBA Season

4. The Sacramento Kings

Yes, that’s right the Sacramento Kings. The Kings are the college basketball NBA all-stars. What I mean by that is when looking at their roster they have so many guys where you say to yourself, “That dude was a monster in college.” De’Aaron Fox and Buddy Hield are the first that come to mind since they are the franchises cornerstones. Beyond them Sacramento has Marvin Bagley III, Harrison Barnes, Kyle Guy, Yogi Ferrell, Jabari Parker, Glenn Robinson III, and Tyrese Hailburton, who were all monsters in College.

Also, is this the first team in NBA History with two guys as the third in their families lineage: Glen Robinson III and Marvin Bagley III? Just something to ponder.

Anyway, this young Kings team is very interesting for a couple of reasons. The first is their two young studs: De’Aron Fox and Buddy Hield. Can those two be more than just big stats on bad teams guys? Can they become one of the best backcourts in the league? They certainly have the talent to do so. The question around those two is whether or not they can step up and lead their teams night in and night out.

Two seasons ago, the Kings seemed to be on the right direction, just missing the playoffs. Kings fans were hopeful for the future for the first time in a long time. Those hopes died down a bit when the Kings weren’t able to take steps forward and become a playoff team. It’ll be intriguing to see if the Kings can make the playoffs for the first time in forever.

The other reason for why the Kings are interesting is if things start to go sour early on this season, does Buddy Hield, or De’Aaron Fox request a trade? Will they become sellers at the trade deadline in a shorten, fan-less season, to save some money?

A lot of questions remain unanswered about the Kings. One thing is for sure though: with the young talent they’ve got, I didn’t even mention Marvin Bagley III, Kings fans should be hopeful for the future.
