LeBron James is one of the best defenders in the history of the NBA, having been named to the All-Defensive teams six times in his career. As James has gotten older, he has not quite asserted himself as much defensively, which is why he not higher on this list.

While James may not be the best defensive player all year, he still can be the best defensive player on any given play. James proved this back in the 2016 NBA Finals when he made “The Block”, to deliver the first championship to Cleveland in 52 years.
