8. USA Women’s Hockey Team Tops Canada

Canada was favored to win the entire Olympic Women’s Hockey tournament this year, but the American National Team had other plans in mind.

America went 4-1 in the tournament and beat Canada to win the gold medal in the championship game. It was the first time the women’s hockey team won the gold medal in 20 years, as their last gold medal came in 1998.
