9. Unified Korea Walks Together During the 2018 Olympics

The Olympic games were held in PyeongChang, South Korea this year and were full of amazing storylines. One of the best stories of the games came before any play took place, at the opening ceremonies.

For decades North Korea and South Korea have been divided as political tensions have made it impossible for the two countries to cooperate. That all changed this year, as South Korea and North Korea walked hand-and-hand showing a unified front in the opening ceremonies.

This does not mean that the two countries are suddenly done feuding, but it was a sign of peace that showed that they could be open to reconciliation in the future.
