Joe Dumars is one of the greatest figures in the history of the Detroit Pistons, not only as a player but he also served as the team’s President of Basketball Operations from 2000 through 2014 and won a championship in that role. As a player, Dumars formed one of the best backcourts we have ever seen with Isiah Thomas and the duo led the Pistons to back-to-back championships in 1989 and 1990. In 1989, Dumars averaged 27 points per game in the Pistons four-game sweep of the Lakers in the NBA Finals and was named the MVP of the series.
