The 25 Best NBA Players Who Never Made an All Star Game

3. Rod Strickland

Nicknamed “Hot Rod”, Rod Strickland was one of the greatest point guards in the NBA for the better part of two decades. Strickland had great vision and was a gifted passer. During his tenures in Washington, Portland and San Antonio, where he spent a bulk of his career, Strickland averaged well over eight assists per game.

In the 1997-98 season, Strickland led the NBA in assists with an average of 10.9 per game. He also averaged 17.8 points, 5.3 rebounds and 1.7 steals per game that year.

2. Monta Ellis

Monta Ellis had an 11-year stretch in which he was one of the best shooting guards in the NBA, yet he was never named to an All-Star Game. Ellis began his career with the Golden State Warriors, where he had some of the best seasons of his career.

In 2010, Ellis averaged 25.5 points and 5.3 assists per game. He followed that season up the next year by averaging 24.1 points and 5.6 assists per game. Those seasons were absolutely All-Star worthy and are just a few of the many seasons were Ellis was played at an elite level.
