The 25 Best NBA Players Who Never Made an All Star Game

9. Sam Perkins

One of Sam Perkins nicknames was “Sleepy Sam”, and it is rather fitting when analyzing his career, as the league often slept on Perkins. Perkins was the fourth overall pick by the Dallas Mavericks in the 1984 NBA Draft and he would go on to have the best six-year stretch of his career in Dallas.

Perkins averaged 14.4 points and eight rebounds as a Maverick, while also providing them with solid defense. Perkins had a long NBA career, as he also played for the Los Angeles Lakers, the Seattle SuperSonics and the Indiana Pacers.
