The 20 Highest Paid MLB Managers In 2018

The game of baseball has changed in recent years, with the use of analytics and sabermetrics playing a heavy role in the way organizations make personnel decisions.

As a result of that, managers are not as valued in the game as they once were. Some of the top big league skippers are nowhere close to being paid the same as NFL or NBA coaches.

The fact that Boston Red Sox manager Alex Cora, who won the World Series in his first year as a manager, was paid just a measly $800,000 in 2018 tells the whole story.

Here’s a look at the 20 managers who were paid the most this year.

Even though Aaron Boone had never managed before, the Yankees gave him a three-year deal to become the next skipper for the Pinstripes.

It certainly helped that Boone is forever loved by Yankee fans for his legendary Game 7 walk-off home run in the 2003 ALCS against the Red Sox.

His first season in the Bronx didn’t go poorly as well, as the Yankees finished with a 100-62 record, before losing to the Sox in the ALDS.
