The 20 Best Finals Performances of All Time

14. Michael Jordan – 1998 NBA Finals

Michael Jordan is the G.O.A.T. because of his clutch performances in the NBA Finals, as he won an NBA-record six NBA Finals MVPs.

The 1998 NBA Finals was the last of Jordan’s career and he ended on a high note. In Game 6 of the series against the Utah Jazz, Jordan scored 45 of his team’s 87 points to led them to a narrow 87-86 victory.

The Bulls were down 86-83 in the game with 49.3 seconds left. Jordan was able to force his way into the paint to score a heavily-contested bucket to put his team within one point. Then on the next possession, Jordan picked Karl Malone’s pocket in the post and drove to the other end of the floor where he made the go-ahead jumper with just 5.2 seconds left. On that last shot, Jordan controversially pushed off from Byron Scott during his crossover, but a foul was never called.
