Steph Curry’s Career Could’ve Looked Very Different if it Wasn’t for Keke

It was different when he joined the NBA, though. Steph was drafted 7th overall by the Golden State Warriors in the 2009 draft. Unfortunately, Curry spent most of his first three seasons rehabbing his ankle instead of playing.

In 2012, the Milwaukee Bucks and the Warriors almost finalized a deal that would have sent Andrew Bogut to the Warriors in exchange for Curry. The deal was obviously never done because the Bucks worried about Steph’s ankle issues.

Following the fall through of the Bucks trade, the Warriors continued listening to offers for Curry. However, they decided to ignore them once they began to see the potential in Curry and the reason they drafted him in the first place.
