Russell Westbrook and James Harden want out of Houston. Here are the potential suitors.
The Houston Rockets championship hopes are now crushed as Russell Westbrook and James Harden have both requested a trade. Many teams are showing significant interest in landing one of these star players. Here are some of the potential teams interested.
Russell Westbrook
- Washington Wizards
The Wizards and Rockets have been discussing a trade scenario where the Rockets would send Russell Westbrook to the Wizards while the Wizards would sent John Wall to the Rockets. There would have to be more value sent on the Wizards side to get the trade completed and there seems to be standstill on getting it done.
2. New York Knicks
The New York Knicks have been the most laughable franchise for the past 5 seasons. However, they have started to build solid young squad that is missing a cornerstone franchise player. The Knicks are open to the idea of landing Westbrook. This can also open the opportunity for the Knicks to land a 2nd superstar to create a dynamic duo.
3. Charlotte Hornets
The Charlotte Hornets have expressed mutual interest in Russell Westbrook according to multiple sources. The Hornets are currently trying to find ways to get out of some pretty horrendous contracts. They recently selected PG LaMelo Ball with the 3rd overall pick in the 2020 NBA Draft. Devonte’ Graham came out of no where last season showing that there is indeed some life on a franchise that hasn’t won a playoff series since 2002. One question many have might be is Russ a fit here with Lamelo and Devante both being point guards?
