Ron Harper’s Reaction To Being Pulled Off Michael Jordan Before “The Shot”

“The Shot” originates from Jordan’s iconic buzzer-beating game-winner against the Cleveland Cavaliers in the 1989 Eastern Conference playoffs.

In the third episode of The Last Dance, Jordan admitted that during that game, Cavaliers’ guard Ron Harper, who would soon become Jordan’s teammate, did an outstanding job of defending him in the game.

One thing does remain strange about that particular game. Cavaliers’ head coach Lenny Wilkens wanted Craig Ehlo to guard Jordan on the final possession. This was the moment Jordan knew the game was his. Oddly enough, Harper was thinking the exact same thing.
