Rissa’s Expert Picks (Feb 15th)

An analysis of my favorite daily sports betting picks. It’ll be a mix of spreads, over/under, money line, and props bets varying from sport to sport.

Tonight I highlight my favorite prop bets for the 2nd night of All-Star Weekend

All-Star Saturday Night (8pm EST)

Taco Bell Skills Challenge (Event 1)

Spencer Dinwiddie +300

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander +400

Jayson Tatum +500

Pascal Siakam +500

Khris Middleton +600

Patrick Beverley +600

Domantas Sabonis +800

Bam Adebayo +1200

Tonight, we have a lot of NBA fun and action to look forward to as we have 3 events lined up for the 2nd night of All-Star Weekend. First up we have the Taco Bell Skills Challenge. There are three former Skills Champions participating this year: Spencer Dinwiddie (2018), Jayson Tatum (2019), and Patrick Beverley (2015). Shai Gilgeous-Alexander will be replacing Derrick Rose due to injury and came in as the 2nd favored to win. Dinwiddie is the favorite on every betting site but my favorite pick is Jayson Tatum to win it back to back.

MTN DEW 3-Point Contest (Event 2)

Duncan Robinson +300

Davis Bertans +450

Joe Harris +450

Trae Young +450

Devin Booker +500

Buddy Hield +750

Zach Lavine +1000

Next up is the Mountain Dew 3-point contest. This year’s contest is more interesting with 2 new “wing racks”. They are located 6 feet from the 3-point line and have one ball in each rack that are worth 3 points each. Nowadays, shooters are pulling up from deep and nailing 3-point shots like free throws so it makes sense to add this element to the contest. They have also added 10 seconds to the timer totaling 70 seconds for each round and the total maximum points scored is now 40 with the added wing racks. This year’s contestants also include some former champions: Joe Harris (2019) and Devin Booker (2018), who is replacing Damian Lillard due to injury. Duncan Robinson from the Miami Heat is a clear favorite at +300 but because of this new added element to the contest, I will be going with Trae Young (Ice Trae) at +450 to take home the title.

AT&T Slam Dunk Contest (Event 3)

Aaron Gordon +140

Derrick Jones Jr +175

Pat Connaughton +400

Dwight Howard +500

Last not certainly not least, the AT&T Slam Dunk Contest rounds out the night. This is another contest featuring a former champion: Dwight Howard (2008). Aaron Gordon is the favorite tonight at +140 and some would call him a robbed champion when he dueled against Zach Lavine in 2016. Possibly one of the greatest dunk contests we’ve ever seen so it’s no surprise he’s favored. Personally, I like another runner up in Derrick Jones Jr and I can see this being a great contest coming down to him and Gordon. Excited for a great night all around.

My All Star Prop Bet Picks:

Jayson Tatum +500

Trae Young +450

Derrick Jones Jr +175
