Ranking LeBron James’ Best Seasons

2015-2016 The Comeback

LeBron James, left, and Kevin Love of the Cleveland Cavaliers celebrate the franchise’s first NBA Championship after defeating the Golden State Warriors 93-89 in Game 7 of the 2016 NBA Finals at ORACLE Arena on Sunday in Oakland, Calif.

LeBron James had a typically regular season, averaging 25 point per game on 52% from the field, but his playoff and Finals performances would cement his legacy.

Down 3-1 in the NBA Finals to the 73-9 regular season record breaking/ defending champion Golden State Warriors, the Cavs were deemed dead in the water. LeBron had something to prove after regaining his All-Stars from injuries in the previous Finals. By pure will and aggressiveness, James and Kyrie Irving were able to propel the Cavaliers to tie up the series 3-3 before heading to the bay for game 7.

Following a big-time block on Andre Iguodala by LeBron, Kyrie Irving hit a clutch 3 late in the 4th to put the Cavs in position to close out the series. After a tight battle at Oracle, LeBron James and the Cavs came up on top 93-89, becoming the first team in NBA history to comeback from a 3-1 deficit to win an NBA Finals.
