Photographer releases statement after hit during Georgia-Auburn game
Smith remained motionless at first, but was conscious when put into a neck brace and onto a stretcher. She was transported to East Alabama Medical Center where she was checked and treated for a concussion. Later Saturday night, she was released from the hospital.
During halftime, Herrien and Georgia quarterback Jake Fromm prayed for Smith in the locker room. “Brian felt very sick about it.” Said Georgia coach, Kirby Smart in a postgame interview.
Sunday morning, Smith wrote to Twitter, “Last night was very scary, but I’m so glad to be walking away with nothing more than a concussion & some bruises. I will be home resting & recovering for the next several days, but I’m looking forward to being back on the sidelines soon!”
