Pelicans Coach Alvin Gentry Accuses LeBron James Of Tampering For His Anthony Davis Comments

Earlier this week, LeBron James said if the Lakers traded for Pelicans’ star Anthony Davis, it would be ‘amazing’ to play with the Brow.

While it seemed like a harmless comment to make, anonymous NBA GMs did not like that very much, as well as Pelicans coach Alvin Gentry, who claims that it’s “B.S.” James is allowed to tamper without punishment, according to The Athletic’s Will Guillory.

“Yes it is, why would it not be? If an executive said it, it would be tampering,” Gentry said. “It’s B.S. It’s tampering. Should we have AD say, ‘Why don’t we trade for LeBron?’ I’m just saying, why is it not tampering if players are saying it?”

The NBA already released a statement saying that it has looked into and cleared James of wrongdoing in this case, so no punishment will be handed out.

The Lakers and Pelicans played on Friday night, with the Lakers coming out on top, 111-104.
