Paul George Calls Carmelo Anthony’s return to the NBA “Great”

The Trail Blazers are in Los Angeles to take on the Clippers Tuesday night. Former teammates, Carmelo Anthony and Paul George, will face off against each other. The two played together when they were members of the Oklahoma City Thunder during the 2017-2018 season. Tuesday night’s matchup will be the first time they play each other since Melo’s last game with the Rockets last season.

After Sunday’s 150-125 win against the Wizards, George was asked about his thoughts on Anthony’s return to the NBA. “I mean, it’s great!”, he responded. “I just hate how, first game Melo came back and the whole media was like ‘his plus-minus is this’ and ‘him being on the floor, Portland generated this’ and then now, he’s playing well and the media is like, ‘three games straight he did this and that’. I just hate the narratives that’s created by him being back.”

He continued speaking highly of Melo by saying, “Melo’s been a great player. He’s going to be a great player, he’s playing terrific from start to finish. Shoutout to Portland for opening that door back up for Melo and prolonging his career.”
