Pat Riley Offered Young Tracy McGrady A Max Contract

In 2000, McGrady left the Toronto Raptors to sign a six-year $67.5 million contract with the Orlando Magic. There was two reasons that McGrady wanted to play for the Magic franchise.

The first reason is that he wanted to play with his friend, Grant Hill. This did not last for long as Hill went down with an injury. The second reason is he disliked his secondary role playing behind his cousin, Vince Carter.

What most people do not know about this story is the fact that McGrady could have ended up a little further south of Florida, in Miami.
