The basic idea of the prank wasn’t new, as other organizations have done it before, but this time, the Magic added one unique twist.

A blindfolded fan was going to attempt a half-court shot for $100,000. While the fan was somewhere in the arena signing the waiver/contract, the audience was informed to start cheering after he shot, tricking him into believing he had just won the money.

After the fan missed the shot, and the crowd started cheering, they thought they had successfully pranked him — little did they know.
