Odell Beckham Jr. Is Reportedly On The Trading Block

Apparently, the 49ers are the front runners to land Odell Beckham Jr. at this time. According to Adam Lefkoe of Bleacher Report, Niners coach Kyle Shannahan has been chasing OBJ for years.

“Kyle Shannahan is obsessed with Odell Beckham with his offense, and he offered the most. [New York Giants GM Dave Gettleman] did not want to move Odell to the Niners for two reasons. He didn’t want him within the conference, so he wouldn’t trade him within the NFC, which is why he went to the Browns. No. 2, he knew Odell would be so successful with Kyle Shanahan, that the trade would make him look very, very bad, so he would not move him to the Niners.”

Trading for Odell Beckham Jr. comes along with a $14.25 million expense. Currently, the 49ers have about $17 million left in cap space. Niners GM John Lynch would likely have to work some magic in reconstructing Beckham Jr.’s contract to make more sense for the franchise.
