With the Eagles’ decision of not giving key backup quarterback Nick Foles the franchise tag, he became an unrestricted free agent.
As free agency opened on Monday, the Jaguars made a big splash by throwing a massive four-year, $88 million deal at Foles to be their new franchise quarterback.

Of that $88 million, $50 million will be guaranteed.
The #Jaguars giving QB Nick Foles $50.125 million in guaranteed money would be the most for a single contract in franchise history.

The move will result in the Jaguars releasing incumbent starter Blake Bortles.
The #Jaguars are expected to release QB Blake Bortles when QB Nick Foles’ deal is official and signed, I’m told. Will be a few days. But Bortles will be free.
