NFL Players Who Do Jersey Swaps Are Being Charged Hundreds

NFL players recently picked up the tradition that started with international soccer stars, where two players sign and exchange jerseys as a sign of respect.

However, it comes as a pretty costly tradition to NFL players.

NBC Sports Bay Area’s Matt Maiocco reported earlier this week that players are charged $500-plus when they gift their game-worn uniform top to another player.

It might seem crazy, but it shouldn’t come as too much of a shock that teams want to be reimbursed by jerseys they gave the player to begin with.

Players around the league likely know this information already, but are willing to pay the price to get a jersey from a top player on the opposing team.

This trend has not only taken the NFL by storm, but also the NBA, where players are constantly swapping jerseys, especially if a top player is on a farewell tour, such as Dwyane Wade last season.

Considering the NBA players, and the league have enough money to buy them a new jersey every game of the year, it’s highly unlikely that we will see the basketball players be fined.

It’s unfair to the NFL, but it’s their league and their rules.

One jersey swapping example in the NFL is when Dak Prescott and Cole Beasley swapped jerseys after the game. Click below to learn more.
