New York Knicks Deny Richard Jefferson’s Statement About Offering Him A Contract

New information has now led us to believe that Jefferson was lying, which would mean that he was forced to retire as he had no contract offers.

During Sunday’s Knicks vs Nets game, Jefferson stated that since the Knicks were the only one to offer him a contract, that he would rather retire.

“I refused to play for the Knicks. Jason Kidd and Kenyon Martin, they don’t really care. Me… I was the one person that said, ‘Knicks? No. I’ll retire.’

That’s why I retired. They were the one team that offered me a job, and I decided to retire. It’s true. I decided to retire instead of playing for the Knicks.”
