NBA Considering Reseeding Conference Finalists And Shortening The Regular Season

The play-in proposal is this: two four-team tournaments featuring the seventh, eighth, ninth and 10th seeds in each conference. The seventh seed would host the eighth seed, with the winner of that single game earning the seventh spot, league sources said.

In order for the NBA to achieve any of this, there is a serious deadline for them to get all of the details worked out. If they do not figure it out by April to get it in front of the league’s board of governors, it will mean waiting at least an extra season.
