Two of the Celtics’ All-Stars were unable to be there in the playoffs due to season-ending injuries, Kyrie Irving, and Gordon Hayward.
However, their young core played so well that many fans almost forgot they were hurt. The Celtics managed to secure the second seed in the eastern conference and get to a Game 7 in the eastern conference finals before being eliminated by LeBron James, and his Cleveland Cavaliers.
Then, this past season, with the team regaining Irving and Hayward, many expected them to be the top-dogs in the eastern conference. This wasn’t the case for the young Celtics as they struggled to build chemistry all season.
