Gortat never had a problem with Reebok until the 2009 playoffs when he was really able to shine. The problem was that Gortat’s calf Jordan tattoo, which Reebox seemingly did not care about at first.
Then, the Magic made the 2009 Finals, and all of a sudden, Reebok had a big problem with Gortat’s tattoo. They wasn’t too fond of Gortat having their biggest rival on his leg, giving Jordan brand free advertising.
Considering the new spotlight Gortat was now in, Reebok asked Gortat to wear socks high enough to cover the tattoo, or simply cover it with make-up.
