Los Angeles Lakers: Dwight Howard Comes To Defense Of Teammate On Instagram

The Los Angeles Lakers are having a successful season, but some fans believe that one player is hurting the team, but Lakers’ center Dwight Howard shares his thoughts about the situation on Instagram.

Although the Lakers have been successful this season, there are many fans who believe that one player is hurting more than helping, and that player is Kentavious Caldwell-Pope.

Statistically, KCP has not been very beneficial to the Lakers this season as he is averaging 6.2 points per game, 2.1 rebounds per game, and 1.3 assists per game. However, Howard believes that his presence is needed, and even took to Instagram to reply to a fan who captioned “Trade KCP.”

Howard has been an important factor for the Lakers this season as his defense coming off the bench has stunned NBA teams.

Lakers reporter, Harrison Faigen, asked Howard why it was important for him to come to his teammate’s defense, and his response is below.

KCP is on a two-year contract at 16 million dollars with the Lakers with a no-trade clause so Lakers fans can expect him around until at least until the 2021 off-season. Caldwell-Pope may not put up strong statistical numbers like many of his teammates, but his veteran leadership, and his presence on the floor are certainly what the Lakers need to win a championship.

In last night’s game against the Sacramento Kings, KCP managed to score 16 points, with 12 coming in the fourth quarter to help the Lakers secure the two-point win.

The Lakers are currently 10-2, sitting at first place in the western conference. Their next game will come tomorrow night against the Atlanta Hawks as they try to improve their record to 11-2.
