Number 5: FSG partnership
In 2011, Fenway Sports Group and LeBron James announced a new partnership, which saw them become his marketing agency. This also led to LeBron getting minority stakes in Liverpool FC, the English soccer team FSG had recently acquired. This seemed like a minor detail, since soccer isn’t big in the States, but it has been massive for LeBron. Thanks to his investment in Liverpool, his overseas presence grew massively. Considering this also came at the same time as the King’s first championship and Finals MVP, this was a massive move that put LeBron firmly into the global spotlight.
