Kevin Garnett Believes Irving and Durant Should’ve Signed With Knicks

Kevin Garnett, who spent most of his NBA career with the Minnesota Timberwolves and the Boston Celtics, also spent a short amount of time with the Nets. Garnett was in New York on Tuesday to promote his new movie with Adam Sandler, “Uncut Gems”. Per Ian Begley of SNY, Garnett believes the two stars chose to join the wrong New York team.

Garnett told media, “If they did the Nets, I thought they should have done the Knicks, if I’m being honest. I’m not a Knick fan by far. But if they come to the city and dominate, man.” He added, “The first superstar to hit New York and be vibing is going to be bigger than life. Remember I said that. Any piece of hope in this city is going to skyrocket. People are waiting.”

When asked if he was surprised Boston didn’t work out for Kyrie, Garnett responded, “No. … Boston’s a tough town, dawg. You have to have some major cojones to be there.”

Rapper, Fat Joe, also gave his opinion on the duo. While on SI Now, Fat Joe said, “They didn’t want that smoke.” He continued, “They said ‘Alright we want New York, but let’s do the lesser of the drama. Let’s go to Brooklyn.’”
