Kevin Durant Featured on the Cover of Forbes

The then Seattle Super Sonics, now Oklahoma City Thunder, drafted Durant 2nd overall in the 2007 NBA draft. He played with the Thunder for nine seasons before becoming a member of the Golden State Warriors in 2016. Currently, Durant is part of the Brooklyn Nets organization. Unfortunately, he is likely to miss the entirety of the 2019-2020 season due to an Achilles injury that occurred during Game 5 of the 2019 NBA Finals.

Now, here’s why Durant was given this honor:

Durant is a two-time NBA Finals champion. He won back to back titles with the Golden State Warriors in 2017 and 2018. Besides being a two-time champ, Durant has a long list of accolades during his career. In his debut season, Durant was Rookie of the Year. He won Most Valuable Player for the 2013-2014 season after averaging 35.9 points per game. Durant was also awarded Finals MVP, twice. He is a ten-time NBA All-star, winning two NBA All Star Game MVP’s.

Despite being one of the best NBA players, Durant is also a businessman. He co-founded an investment firm named “Thirty Five Ventures”. He also partnered with Acorns in 2016, saying, “Supporting up-and-coming generations by tackling tough issues and empowering them with the tools for success has always been a priority in my life.”
