Jayson Tatum Won’t Touch Any of His NBA Money

While making an appearance on “Kneadling Dough”, Tatum revealed that he puts all the money he’s making from the Celtics into a savings account. He uses money from his endorsement deals to make a living.

Tatum told Maverick Carter, “All the money I get from the Celtics, I put it in a savings account.” He added, “When I picked my agent, I told him I want to do as much off the court stuff as I can. Right now I’m young, so I try to do everything as much as possible.”

He didn’t recently decide to start watching his finances, though. He’s done it during his previous seasons in the NBA as well. The advice came from Bradley Beal. Beal, a St. Louis native like Tatum, advised him to be wise with the money he makes.

Tatum says his mom also tells him how important it is to be careful with his money. His mom acts as his financial and business advisor. He grew up living check to check so he wants to make sure he and his mother live well. “Tomorrow is not promised. You’re not promised the next contract. You want to save all the money you can.”
