NBA insider Ric Bucher recently said on “The Odd Couple” Podcast that James Harden and the majority of the Rockets players, including Russell Westbrook, now feel too uncomfortable to play in Houston because of the Rockets’ owner Tilman Fertitta’s strong ties with former President Donald Trump. The tension and friction in the organization due to political beliefs and affiliations seem to be unrepairable, according to Bucher.
“What I heard is, and we know how much politics and political position had to do with the boycott and protests during the Bubble — I’m hearing that Tilman Fertitta’s strong Republican support and donations is one of the things that is contributing to this dissatisfaction.”
“There is a revolt here because they look at Fertitta as a guy who supports the current President.”
