Dwight Howard Summons Kobe Bryant For Dunk Contest

Before the 2012-13 NBA season began, the Lakers looked like a superteam with the starters consisting of Steve Nash, Kobe Bryant, Metta World Peace, Pau Gasol, and Dwight Howard. This is the team that planned to counter the Miami Heat team out in the Eastern Conference.

While the Heat ended up winning the title, the Lakers were no competition to them as they barely made the playoffs that year. The Lakers season ended pretty early due to fighting through injuries and dysfunctions among players — -such as Kobe and Dwight.

The Lakers experiment came to an end, and so did Dwight’s one-year contract with the Lakers. After the season ended, Howard decided to sign with the Houston Rockets. Fast forward seven years later, and Dwight Howard is back in a Lakers uniform.
