Red Sox legend David Ortiz was reportedly shot in a burglary attempt in the Dominican Republic on Sunday night, per multiple outlets including CDN 37.
CDN reports he was shot in the back. The reported incident occurred outside an amusement center in Santo Domingo. According to Ortiz’s father, he was taken to a medical center after being shot.

Ortiz underwent successful surgery and is expected to make a full recovery, which Ortiz’s agent also confirmed.
