Damian Lillard’s New Shoe Was Inspired by a Heckler

However, he signed a deal with Adidas in only his second season. Now, he is awaiting the release of his sixth signature shoe. The first Dame 6 to release will be called “Ruthless” after Lillard’s “personality on the floor.”

In January, another colorway will be released. That one is called “Hecklers”. The shoe was inspired by a fan who was shouting at Lillard during a game in Orlando.

Lillard told the story while on Bleacher Report’s B/R Kicks’ “Unboxed”, saying “It was just a fan behind their bench, and he wouldn’t shut up. And he just kept talking and talking and talking. And I scored at the first half buzzer, and I was walking off the court and he was still talking. And I was just like – we kinda had a back-and-forth and I was, like, ‘Watch what’s about to happen.’ And he just kept talking. And then the whole second half, they couldn’t stop me.”
