Damian Lillard On Load Management

Blazers’ Damian Lillard and CJ McCollum each stated that they have no plans to sit out games during the regular season, citing the competitive Western Conference playoff race.

“We’re not some big super team. So I don’t think we have the luxury to sit out, especially with how competitive the West is going to be,” Lillard told Joe Freeman of The Oregonian.

Damian Lillard admitted that he was tired after making it to the Western Conference finals last year.

CJ McCollum added that the Blazers cannot follow the Kawhi Leonard-load management plan.

“The race in the Western Conference is extremely tight. I don’t know if we can afford to ‘Kawhi it’, so to speak. You’ll Kawhi your way out of the playoffs.”
