Colin Kaepernick Considered “No Show” At NFL Workouts

Former NFL quarterback, Colin Kaepernick claims that he is ready to be on an NFL team once again, but holding his own workout may not have been beneficial in his favor.

Kaepernick’s workout for NFL teams was much anticipated as 25 teams from the league showed up to host his workout, but Kaepernick had last minute plans as he changed the venue.

Kaepernick claimed that he changed the venue to allow media members access after his workout. Sources say that at least seven representatives from NFL teams made their appearance to watch his showcase.

The NFL said 25 clubs were present and all 32 teams would have received video footage of the event, per source.

The NFL released an official statement on Kaepernick:

“We are disappointed that Colin did not appear for his workout. Today’s session was designed to give Colin what he has consistently said he wants, an opportunity to show his football readiness and desire to return to the NFL.”

Kaepernick’s representatives said in a statement that the media would have been shut out of the Atlanta Falcons’ facility, and they wanted “transparency,” per source. Kaepernick moved his workout location to a high school, about 44 miles out of the way from the Falcons’ facility.

Kaepernick did release a statement concerning his workout:

“Our biggest thing with everything today was making sure we had transparency with what went on, we’ll be waiting to hear from [NFL commissioner] Roger Goodell, the NFL, the 32 teams. Ball’s in their court — we’re ready to go.”
