It’s hard to imagine the NBA today without Los Angeles Lakers’ superstar Anthony Davis, but the thought of quitting basketball did occur to him — so what stopped him?

One thing that Davis, and former MVP Derrick Rose, have in common is that both of them call Chicago their hometown.

The two have become very good friends over the years, and it turns out that Davis idolizing Rose may be the reason we see him playing today.

During his senior year in high school, Davis wasn’t even ranked in Chicago. He wasn’t the best player, and he was scared to be exposed. This is the reason that Davis came close to quitting basketball.
