Call Your Bookie, Daniel Murphy is a Lock to Win Next Year’s Batting Title
Daniel Murphy has been one of baseball’s best hitters ever since he led the New York Mets to the World Series in 2015.
Murphy followed up his magical 2015 postseason, in which he hit seven home runs in the first nine games, with a few great years playing for the Washington Nationals.
Murphy is now set for the best statistical season of his career, as it was announced that he has signed a new two-year deal with the Colorado Rockies.

Murphy has a swing that is perfect for the hitter-friendly confines of Coors Field, as a ballpark that is catered to doubles hitters. Murphy led the National League in doubles in 2016 and 2017, hitting 90 combined doubles over that span.

Last year, Murphy did not play enough games to qualify for the batting title but he finished second in the race in each of the two seasons prior.
The ironic thing is that Murphy lost both of those batting titles to Colorado Rockies hitters that got to take half of their at-bats playing at the mile-high altitude.
Now that Murphy gets to play with that same advantage, he is all but guaranteed to win his first batting title.
If Daniel Murphy goes to the Rockies we can just give him the batting title now. No way he doesn't win it in the best hitters park in history. That place is such a joke.

Murphy has a career .330 batting average in 26 games at Coors Field, which he will look to raise with a full season in the park this year.
