Baylor Dominates Gonzaga to Capture their First Ever Title

Baylor’s offense was great, but the most impressive part of Baylor’s dominating victory was their stifling defense.

The Bears held Gonzaga to 29.4% from the three point line. They were all up in the Bulldog’s grill. Baylor also out-rebounded Gonzaga 38-22, including 16-5 on the offensive glass. It’s hard to beat a team that controls the boards by such a wide margin, especially when you’re not shooting well.

In every aspect of the game, the Baylor Bears were better than the Gonzaga Bulldogs. Actually, Scratch that. Baylor was A LOT, cue 21 Savage’s “a lot” track, better than Gonzaga.

Even though Gonzaga couldn’t pull of the first undefeated season since the 1975-76 Indiana Hoosiers coached by the legendary Bobby Knight, nobody should take away at what an incredible season the Bulldogs had.

In one of the craziest seasons in college basketball history, with coronavirus pandemic still in effect, Gonzaga was able to dominant their opponents all season long. It’s unfortunate that Mark few won’t get the recognition and respect he deserves since they lost the title, but Gonzaga will surely be cutting down the nets soon and hopefully then Gonzaga will the respect they deserve as the premier college basketball program. However, that will have to wait for now, because they just got trounced by a better team: the Baylor Bears.
