Astros Acquire Ace Zack Greinke At MLB Trade Deadline

The Houston Astros took a major step towards winning the 2019 World Series on Wednesday afternoon, acquiring Diamondbacks ace Zack Greinke just before the MLB trade deadline.

It was eventually reported that, in exchange for Greinke, the Astros would ship four prospects to Arizona, with the players ranked third, fourth, and fifth in their minor league system on the move.

It wasn’t as if the Diamondbacks were being sellers at the deadline: they’re only three games back of a wild card spot in the N.L. But with the move, the Astros are now bulked up on starting pitchers, with Greinke, Gerrit Cole, and Justin Verlander.
