Arizona Cardinals Will Reportedly Fire Steve Wilks After Just One Season

Steve Wilks’s tenure with Cardinals will come to an end after the season, according to a report from ESPN’s Adam Schefter. Wilks was hired last January following the retirement of Bruce Arians.

‘One source said he could not envision a scenario in which the Cardinals would bring back Wilks, who was just hired in January — a sign of how quickly owners get unhappy and impatient.’

The Cardinals never got things in the right direction this season. As of Week 15, the Cardinals had the worst offense in the league in terms of yards and points per game.

With Wilks’s background being in defense; he served as the defensive coordinator for the Panthers prior, it seems as if the Cardinals’ priority will be do focus on improving the offense.
