5 Reasons Why LeBron Should Call Himself The G.O.A.T.

Recently, LeBron James said on ESPNs More Than An Athlete that he feels he’s the greatest basketball player of all time after his 3-1 comeback Finals victory over the Golden State Warriors in 2016. While MJ and Kobe fans are hyperventilating from the thought of LeBron being the best of all time, many buy it. Some believe this wasn’t a declaration, but a tribute to Cleveland after bringing home a Championship for the first time in franchise history. Nevertheless, this statement was uncharacteristic of the King.

LeBron did mention that he was “the best player in the world” after game 5 of the 2015 NBA Finals during a post-game interview, but he noticeably and awkwardly forced that declaration in response to a reporter questioning his confidence as an NBA player.

The debate about who is the basketball G.O.A.T is continuously growing, and will likely never be settled, even after LeBron retires. Regardless of the accolades and rings the King accumulates throughout the rest of his career, their will always be the Jordan faithful’s reminding everyone that His Airness has a perfect 6-0 Finals record.

There may never be a unanimous G.O.A.T., but that’s not why LeBron should calling himself the greatest.

King James has shaken up the world of basketball with this comment, and everyone has formed an opinion. Many feel this statement was cocky, false, and too soon as his career isn’t finished; but let’s look at all the reasons why LeBron chose his words more wisely than you may think…
