5 Greatest Comebacks In Sports

2. Boston Red Sox: 2004 ALCS

As a Yankee Fan, I hate to write this, but the Red Sox didn’t leave me much of a choice. Down 0-3 in the 7 game series against the reigning AL Champion New York Yankees, the Red Sox were suppose to end their season heading into the new year still desperate to shake the Curse of the Bambino. No team has ever come back from being down 0-3 in baseball. Facing elimination in Game 4, a number of unbelievable plays late in the ballgame led up to David Ortiz hitting a Homerun that gave the Red Sox the win in extra innings. It was history after that; the Red Sox would beat the Yankees in the ALCS, and then beat the St. Louis Cardinals in the World Series to finally break the curse.
